Tis' the Season

Well, we harvested our last tomato crop today. There is going to be frost tonight, and I need to get the greenies in to ripen. We made and canned spaghetti sauce - 3 quarts and 1 pint. It took 1 1/2 grocery bags of tomatoes! But hey, what else are you going to do with that many tomatoes? We have a few bags of apples from Dave and Chrissy's house (they have 3 apple tree) and we plan to make apple sauce tomorrow. This is the first time I have actually canned. I have prepared to do it for years now as we inherited a lot of canning items from Eric's mom. But it doesn't really make sense to do it unless you have your own crop of fruit or veggies since generally you need such large quantities. Just another reason to have a garden! On day I'd love to have our own fruit trees. One day.

Baby Loves the Babyback!

I apologise to all of our friends out there who might be veggie heads. We're not... At all. We finally decided to try a BBQ place in Cohoes called the Pig Pit that we remembered from living here before (lovely name I know - that is why it took us so long to try it). I went on-line and it was rated #1 BBQ in the Capital Region for 3 years running. The guy is from Texas, came here, and opened the Pig Pit about 5 years ago. Well, the Fichtner reviews are in - YUMMO! The food was great and the service was great too! Even Noel gobbled up a little pulled pork, and she HAD to try those lovely things called ribs that dad was eating. For that I had to get a picture because it was too cute!

FOUR! Here are the first ultra sound pictures of the newest Rachael and Eric creation. No we don't know the sex, but I think I saw boy parts! They said it was too early to tell, but I was also further along then they thought - 14 weeks. My due date is now February 10... Which just also happens to be my best friend Sarah's boy's birthday. All our love to our family and friends.
